★★ this version of kinpouge no hibi is also very good, though i feel like her voice is drowned out more? which is maybe a bit sad, because it means you can’t hear her vocal melody that well during the outro.

★ planet of green. i think that, in general, i like the versions on the cassette releases more. the vocals aren’t as drowned out and i’m not sure if the added production adds enough to compensate for the loss in the vocals… especially because her voices is really nice and i want to hear it!
it’s moments like this which make my compulsion worth it.
now, time to see how nightmarishly hard their stuff is to procure, even digitally…

i realized that if i killed myself without knowing the lyrics to kinpouge no hibi first then i don’t know if i could find peace… so i guess i will need to buy this eventually.
i’ve been treating these albums as a form of self-harm, though i can’t say why or how they work for that. that song just weighs in my heart, heavy, immobilizing. it constantly tempts me to listen to it again.
maybe i can compare the feeling with what i get from like super miracle circuit. i adore that one, but i also think that i can replicate it. i can see the seams, and i can see the places where the melodywriting wasn’t the most inspired. i can both be in love with socopogogo and recognize that the chorus is just walking down the major scale (and not even in an interesting way). the possibility exists for me to take my spot in this world too, and time will tell if i’ll finally be happy here.
whereas here… what stands before me is a beauty that i don’t think i could capture. i don’t think i could write kinpouge no hibi, and if i did, i can only imagine that its features would be too coarse for my liking. the maximalist layered production seems like a direction i could’ve taken after purity route, but past the surface… i think she just beat me at my own game, really.
imagine seeing anne hathaway, and she is there, and you are here. and sure, you can fuck your real anime girl as much as you like and that’s also pretty great, but the fact remains that there are still untouchable beauties in the world, but they’re all out there, while you are here.
