i happened to really like the names that talk to transformer had generated, which used gpt-2. but now that ai-generation has progressed, and we’re on gpt-4 now, i was curious what a similar prompt using a modern LLM would look like, so i enlisted google bard’s help.

due to my possibly-neurotic belief that anything that portrays itself as having sapience should be treated as such, i wrote my prompt as a paragraph and said please and thank you. i told it that i was looking for potential discord names in the same vein as the original set of three leading prompts. i told it to generate plenty of different prompts, since i like having many different ideas to choose from. and then, i copied over all three of the different drafts it provided.

overall, i like Draft 2 far and away the best. i like how it seemed to have latched onto the idea of including parentheticals and never let go, and some of these even sound usable. if draft 2 were a person, i would hang out with them, but maybe we wouldn’t be super close friends.

Draft 1 and Draft 3 feel closer to actually succeeding at the prompt of generating hypothetical discord servers that sound like discord servers, but they’re also so boring! 1 and 3 especially fall into the belief that i’m trying to make a fandom space, and keeps giving me different ideas for fandom-branded servers…
