aww, no rendition of ARABESQUE on here? :p
★ prologue~
★★ reminiscence~ the tone on this is so~
though then you reach things like movement 1 and… would you need three hands to play all three melodic lines?
and maybe it’s better to just sit back and enjoy the ride in cases like these, yet i can help but feel like this approach leads to adjacent notes clashing
★ ayumi. yeah the bass is active here, and the chords in the middle are active, and i can’t imagine how the right hand would cope with playing both the chords and the melody here if only two hands were used
★ school. yeah let’s just shut up and enjoy the ride
★★ home. it’s home!
★ fate
★ movement 2
★★ kanna. best girl?
★ hearth
★ nostalgia
★★ bonds
★ contact
★ other world, or, the isekai.
★★ sayless. that melody turn melts me!…
★★ yu-no. god i love her… i love the girl who the game is named after, but who can blame me really? she’s just that lovable! and it’s not like i’d love mio more if the game was named after her…
★ growth. she’s getting bigger!
★★ love. i’ve had this one stuck in my head recently… it really is so tender… i want to love like this!…
(though it is fun how, in-game, this theme is brought out specifically for the hurt/comfort scenes)
★ girl
so then the question is… who is best girl?
- FIGHTS FOR MY HEART
- yu-no: omg a needy clingy puppy dog of a girl who wants to stay with you and love you forever and ever and ever?! who wouldn’t want that?? (though then again, i’ve had people insinuate that my tastes may actually be abnormal)
- kanna: she has a… she has a sadness in her heart. really a lot of the heroines do, but she appeals really intensely to the hurt/comfort side of me. i want to make her feel like she’s valuable and worthwhile as a person. i want to build her up! i want to help her heal! (but also irl we would be a couple of lesbian sheep around each other, and that would never change) (like ok, honestly, how much of her romance arc involves breaking and entering?!)
- ayumi: as someone who is nominally an adult, ayumi appeals to me in a lot of ways. i can relate to her being a highly-educated scatterbrain just trying to hold her life together, because, well, same.
- GOOD GIRLS
- eriko: get urself a girl who absolutely reeks of marlboros
- sayless: the needy clingy puppy dog girl on silent mode
- mitsuki: she seems like she’d be a really great and understanding friend
with benefits - amanda: i actually like her a lot, but i also get the feeling that she wouldn’t care for me at all. why do the hottest butches want the manliest men?
- NOT MY TYPE
- kaori: shit i forgot that she had a whole arc for a while. but also this is such a non-romance romance arc? like it’s a story about using and being used, to mutual benefit
- sayu: oh god this scene was irritating. oh god takuya truly is indiscriminate when it comes to women
- mio: like, ok, i get it. the stuck up rich girl is hurting too, because uh, her daddy doesn’t let her engage in her special interest of paranormal investigation as much as she’d like and… uh… because her crush who she treats like shit is off banging the teacher because, unlike mio, that teacher actually tries to engage with him as a person and… are there really any good sides to mio anyway? it takes a near-death experience to finally break through her shell and at that point is it even worth it?
though if the three i loved most actually had to fight for my heart, yu-no would absolutely win, if only because the others are already kinda self-defeating.
