deepdive.gg was, honestly, the most frustrating internet discovery i’d ever come across. it did just enough to wrap a mystique around itself that it intrigued me just enough to want to make the dive myself.
…and then it turned out to be another group of luke smith-obsessed channers who hated the queer as a matter of policy.
i left the group shortly afterward.

(there are so many other fun forms of compression that can be done anyway! there’s adpcm + sample rate compression, there’s so many lossy encoder compressions… i’d find it hard to stick with just one for too long)
i want to make what i wanted deepdive to be, if only because i want something like deepdive but better across every dimension.
more tolerant, more deep, and more diveworthy too.
i want the esoteric queer technocult that operates through kdx and prayers.

…and maybe that’s what i tried to help bring about through paralogue…
i discovered deepdive.gg due to the owner running an srb2kart server, among many other services. i believe the owner took the landchad approach to loading up his vps with as many privacy-related services as he could: a searx frontend, an invidious frontend, etcetera etcetera.
the only notable thing i remember about the server itself is that it used a mod that replaced the game’s drifting and miniturbo mechanics with double dash’s. since the server was also hosted in europe, at the time i figured it was just the lag which was causing my driftboosts to be so inconsistent.
that said, i don’t think i’d necessarily call this an srb2kart community in the same vein as like mocha’s. if i remember right it was mostly about finding and sharing links – possibly to warez, possibly not – and srb2kart was just an interest that the owner and a few of his friends had too.
