evil shibuya kei album
i saw that aki socopo was featured on this and then when i checked out the album on rym, one of the comments said that this was “evil shibuya-kei.” so of course i had to go out of my way to learn what evil shibuya-kei sounds like.
★ machine gun love song. ok, i can see it.
vtr start: oh shit this really is evil.
★ itsumo issho. this is the one that aki socopo composed. it lasts for thirty seconds and is a pleasant but insubstantial wurly loop. i can only wonder why this one is on here.
★ okashi na suiyoubi. and just like that we’re back to the nightmare circus.
★ masical groove robot: what is with that steel drum?
but the thing is, this had multiple composers on this! so what happened?
(unless they were just composed, and strawberry-chan was the one doing the production)
the producer and writer for many of these songs is “SM Products,” which i’m assuming is just an oblique way of referring to themselves.
★ shabon-dama holiday
★★ panda to watashi. hey now! you can’t throw a 16th arp over 145 like that! because then i’ll like the song too!
(it’s composed by natural graphity)
first remix: yeah there really isn’t much in this song to remix in the first place. it’s kind of a sub-playground song melody.
★★ and then yeah the psb remix absolute thrashes it. though that arp during the break sounds kinda like the xevious loop?!
