★ memento
★ canary mane. i like the sound, and i wish they did more with it.
★ chimera. i want to love this, but it’s ableton music. or something.
★★ cherish. ok so this is absolutely using vocaloid.
this is a good midnight song.

i feel like there’s a lot here that i would really love if there was more here for me to love.

i think i just wish the songs developed more, even if i suspect it might be an impossibility.

i burned this to listen to in the car, along with eight or so other albums. and after it ended, i turned off the cd player, let the memory sit with me for a bit, and then thought “wait, why couldn’t i just listen to it again?”

so i did. and i did again. the fact that it’s only twenty or so minutes long likely helps.

and i think there is plenty for me to love. you can be enough for me.

★★ memento
★★ canary mane. why couldn’t i love them in 2009. why did none of the emo girls go to school with me?
★★ arowana’s scarlet, especially for the ending, because i must love nothing more than pads fading out.

★★★★ cherish is so devastating.
but it ties into the same thing as dollmaker, right? this willingness to leave one’s identity in the hands of another, so long as it means not being abandoned.
it must be a theme that resonates a lot with me – otherwise, why would i love rubber human as much as i do? but i tend to approach it from the perspective of someone still in the bargaining phase: having the desire to change, and accepting the consequences of being changed, because to remain as you are is to be, well, useless.

(“losing myself so that nothing will change,” huh? it sounds like something is being changed in the transaction, but whatever that is must not be very important)
