★★ toward the south is pretty~
★★ sugar boo is cute too~
★★ flower with no name! her voice makes me melt!
★★ dear heroes. i kinda really admire this, though, i think.
★ little red riding hood
★★ the robot’s happiness! those percs! that sine harmony that just kept going and going!
i think this is close to what i want to make
★ even common everyday is charming. maybe i’m just charmed by her?
★★ laughing frog. i think i might just be lovestruck?
★ this version of the body of earthling is nice
★ merry go round jailhouse

i’ve listened to this album multiple times over the last few days and each time i fall a little more in love…
i fucked up when burning this to disc so now tracks 10 and 11 play after the first, meaning that if i want to listen through the rest of the album after track 9 i need to seek back to near the start to play the final two tracks… at which point track 2 kicks in again. it’s a vicious cycle yet it’s one that i don’t want to get off, at least for now.
★★★ sugar boo. it’s hard not to feel a palpable joy exuding from this. is this whole album filled with the spark of life? the spark of a creator who just wants to write stuff and have fun with it?
★★ common everyday. the way the instruments play off her!

i really want to rethink my star system as pertains to the 2-to-3 gulf. like, what criteria do i want to place on a three-star song or album?
the only strong indicator i can think of is that it has to tug at my heart in some way…
anyway:
sugar boo: still agree, even if the song is about wanting to stuff yourself with sweets until you burst
★★★ flower with no name: that melody is so, so adorable to me… those lyrics are about to make me cry…
★★★ common everyday: it’s so charming, yet also so heartbreaking. it really feels like yearning and hoping for something to happen, while knowing deep down that nothing ever will.
★★★ the robot’s happiness: that kick drum is so propulsive!
★★★ laughing frog: i ended up putting this one on my mixtape for kotomaru, and i guess it’s a cute song about the banality of deceit.
