(eh? why are the sides flipped on this upload?)

★★ close tome is so good!
★ pain. his voice feels like it doesn’t really fit and that it’s just some guy singing along, but the songs are still charming.
★★ night affair. what does that opening remind me of?
oh shit. it’s love is all i have to give!
(but that quiet e-guitar melts me)
dreamer: yeah his voice isn’t great but it can still be charming
★ stage: yeah this really isn’t great but it’s charming! and how many blumpkins do you give something like that?
★ and manhattan love you is a solid ending

ok, so, looking at this mercari listing, there were twelve people involved? and there are multiple vocalists who cycle through? and there’s this dull tone to the whole album which hints at it not being given a professional mix job?
this was released by “FLS Alumni” and that makes me wonder if this is meant to be some sort of college project. but where is FLS? the only searches i can seem to find lean toward it being an international college for foreign language study… but that doesn’t explain why the band is 100% japanese and the songs are mostly in japanese as too.

★ tamaranai tonight. “hey! hey! be a good boy!”
★ and off side iii is a fun interlude
★ wakare no slow down
★★ epilogue without a plot

of those who worked on the album who later worked on other things:

  • shuichi watanabe became a recording engineer
    • actually maybe not, since the one here played synth and writes shuichi with a different kanji…
  • (there are multiple hiroshi sakamotos)
  • (and there are multiple hiroyuki suzukis)

but what happened to the rest? where did they go?
or was it like how pretty much all creative projects and communities go, with most of them fading back into normal life while a select few get absorbed into the industry?
but at least they all have this together, as a memento of a time and place they once shared.
