why? because super miracle circuit credits cyclon86 for one of their songs.
and i do see summer in the pool on here…
★ k girl is a cutie
★★ summer in the pool. change my life summer end!!
so, socopo definitely made it their own, but the original is still very nice too
★ ice coffee
★ while pearl works is super cute~ and i love myself a good sine arp
★★ blue blue bicycle is super cute too~
but then my red watch sounds obviously off-key? is every instrument playing in a different key?
★ and his honey bunny is pretty cute too
so, if we were to follow the chain of association, we’d then want to check out Various Artists - Sunshine Pop Show!! Vol. 3 (1999), which cyclon86 contributed summer in the pool to, and which also has a stacked lineup.
(actually, it might not be stacked; Plus-Tech Squeeze Box is just on there… maybe they just contributed their stuff to a lot of compilations?) (actually not that many…)
holy shit the kinako mochi tirols are on sale again for super cheap…

and since i love the socopo summer in the pool so much, maybe the rest of the album is also that good?
though i can also understand why cyclon86 remained as obscure as it did. with its deliberately (?) lo-fi trappings and not much else to set it apart, it can’t help but come off as a twee pop also-ran. a disadvantaged lucy, really.
